We are incredibly fortunate to have so many wonderful professionals, educators, practitioners, and small business owners supporting women and families across South East Queensland.

My hope is that this directory helps you find people, services, and resources that feel right for you, and that it plays a small part in rebuilding the kind of village we were always meant to have.

This is a growing directory that I will continue to add to over time. At this stage, I have chosen to include only services I have personally interacted with, worked alongside, or heard consistently positive feedback about from trusted clients, colleagues, and members of the birth community. While this list is not exhaustive yet, I hope it provides a helpful starting point as you build your own support network.

Gather your village.

Birth education is one of the best ways to invest in your birth. My birth support clients complete a course as part of their package, but if you’re not working with me and you’d like birth education outside the hospital system, I’ve listed a few recommendations for you.

Private midwives and lactation consultants can be really helpful if you want more individualised support. An Endorsed Midwife can provide Medicare-rebated midwifery care, prescribe certain medications, and order specific tests, which can be especially useful if you’re considering a homebirth. Lactation consultants have advanced training in breastfeeding and infant feeding, and they can support you in working through feeding challenges.

Bodywork such as massage, acupuncture, osteopathy, chiropractic care, or pelvic health support can help ease tension and restore balance to your pelvis and the muscles around it. This can be especially helpful when you’re thinking about baby’s position, because birth tends to go more smoothly when your body isn’t holding tension and baby has room to move.

You do not need to be in crisis to access mental health support. During pregnancy and postpartum, it’s common to feel anxiety, low mood, overwhelm, or strain in your relationships. There are different support options available, and reaching out early can make everything feel so much more manageable than waiting until you’re barely coping.

Placenta encapsulation is one of the many choices women may consider for postpartum.

I love recommending talented creatives to my clients, especially for birth photography and birth films.

Naturopathy can be a really supportive option for pregnancy and postpartum. A naturopath focuses on your whole health, and can help with things like nutrition, digestion, sleep, stress, energy, and common pregnancy discomforts, with gentle, individualised recommendations.

I also love sharing informational resources for you to explore along the way. They can help you feel more informed, more confident, and clearer about the choices in front of you.
