Maybe you know exactly why you want a doula. Maybe you’ve only just heard the word. Maybe you’ve had a previous birth that left you knowing you want something different this time. Or maybe you are looking at the amount of information, opinions, appointments, policies, risks, choices and decisions and wondering where to even begin.

That is why I do this work.

As your doula, I offer evidence-based support through pregnancy, birth, and postpartum. I help you understand your options, prepare for labour, make sense of your choices, and feel supported as you move into motherhood.

There is no one right way to birth, only the way that is right for you, your baby, and your circumstances.

I help you sift through the research, understand your options, and focus on what actually matters to you. But birth preparation is not just about gathering information or writing a birth plan. It is also about the mindset you bring into birth.

What do you believe about birth? What helps you feel safe? What can you influence? And where might you be relying on hope instead of preparation and support?

Because if you want a different kind of birth experience, you have to be willing to prepare differently, too.

I’m not neutral about what is happening in maternity care, and I explore the real issues here. But I do not believe women are powerless inside the system.

Want to know what it would look like to be supported through birth and postpartum in a way that remembers you are becoming a mother, not just having a baby?

If this feels like the support you’ve been looking for, reach out.

Big love!

I’m Ashleigh — a birth and postpartum doula supporting women and families across South East Queensland.

About Me

I care about what happens to a woman as she goes through birth and postpartum. Birth is a profound rite of passage, and the way a woman experiences it can change how she feels about herself, her baby, and her motherhood for years to come.
